Applications

Standard operative system is Windows XP. Standard software includes Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint og Frontpage) and Acrobat Reader. Additional applications are found on applications servers, or are installed locally on demand.

Office

Office 2007 is installed locally as a standard. Contact support for english dictionary or or other language issues.

Acrobat Reader

PDF documents can be read with Acrobat Reader. Installed locally as standard

Adobe Acrobat

is installed locally on laptops. Also available on terminal servers

WordFinder

English-Norwegian/Norwegian-English dictionary.

Is installed at the terminalserver 'roma'. Use 'Remote Desktop' to connect to server.

F-secure

Anti virus software. Make sure that it's installed on your PC. Check for this icon in the bottom right corner of the screen (Under 'hidden icons')

Matlab / Comsol Multiphysics / Mathematica

Matlab is installed at the terminal servers 'athen', 'amman', 'asmara' og 'kalman'. Access to 'kalman' is limited.

Mathematica is installed at server 'athen'.

Comsol Multiphysics is installed at server 'athen'.

Use Remote Desktop to connect to servers.

Visio

Visio is installed at the server 'roma', og is accessed via Remote desktop. Visio is used to create diagrams, flowcharts or software models. Visio supports UML.

Visual Studio

Visual Studio is installed at the server 'roma', og is accessed via Remote desktop. This installation should only be used for training and simpler programming. Larger projects require a local installation on your PC.

Photoshop

For advanced graphics and picture editing. Available at server 'roma' and at PC in the library (with scanner). Use 'MS Paint' or 'MS Office Picture Manager' for more simple tasks

Adobe Illustrator

Make your own vector based graphics. Available at server 'roma'.

Endnote

Software for managing bibliographies. Stand alone installation or plug in for MS Word.

MathType

Editing mathematical equations and symbols in MS Word. Program installed at terminalserver 'roma'.
